Well blow me down….Since July 2010, Bass 99 has rocked Bournemouth with fat beats, party vibes and massive bass. On Saturday 16th July, join us for our first Birthday special where you can catch us again bringing you some serious bassline business and Birthday shenanigans.

For those that dont know Bass 99 isnt a Dubstep night, a Drum n Bass night, a Breaks night…etc. Its a bass music night, which does include the above genres and more, starting off with slower less crazy stuff at the start of the night and picking up pace and additional filth as we go through. So if you love BASS, come along and forget about the genre divides and just enjoy the bass driven activity on the all new Funktion1 sound system.

With his expertise in Heavy Dubstep, DnB and Dutty Basslines don’t expect anything other than wobbles and wob’s, all tied together with his unique style and healthy serving of double drops!

In 2003 DJ Buba & Jason King were sent to listen to music crimes they didn’t commit. They promptly escaped from a commercial seaside town to the dance music underground. Today still wanted by the public, they survive as DJs of fortune… If you have a party, if none else can help, and if you can find them…Maybe you can hire…. The BUBAKING!! When some play safe or stale Beats, Bubaking like to mash it up with an “Anything goes including the kitchen sink” attitude and a cheeky old skool twist. Bass 99 @ Dusk Till Dawn

Since summer 2010, Bass 99 has rocked Bournemouth with fat beats, party vibes and massive bass. On Saturday 18th June, you can catch us again bringing you some serious bassline business.

Recently some of our followers have labeled our night a Dubstep night, a Drum n Bass night, or a Breaks night…etc. So just wanting to put everyone straight….the concept behind our night is to combine the best of bass music, which does include …the above genres and more, starting off with slower less crazy stuff at the start of the night and picking up pace and additional filth as we go through.

Our recomendation is to come along and forget about the genre divides and just appreciate the bass driven activity on the all new Funktion1 sound system. Chances are that if you open your mind you’ll find more than one genre appealin. Bascially, if your feelin a choon then go nuts to it wether it be Drum n Bass, Jungle, Ghetto Funk, Glitch Hop, Breaks, Drumstep, Dubstep, Kitchen Sink, or Whalestep…..ok so the last 2 are made up, but you get the idea!!

The Audio Surgeon
Emerging from the underground in late 2010, and on track to completely rip, tear and cut up the scene this summer. The appropriately named Audio Surgeon, will let loose on your ears like the surgeon he makes out to be, cutting up the beats and injecting the bass. Currently studying In Bournemouth and starting to produce his own tracks, for release later this year. (Although this doesn’t distract him from tearing it up in town, with his Skank Out or Get Out ethos.)

As well as studying in the seaside town he’s also a local; And knows how to get the party going, and the people moving. With his expertise in Heavy Dubstep, DnB and Dutty Basslines don’t expect anything other than wobbles and wob’s, all tied together with his unique style and healthy serving of double drops!

Bubaking:
The breakbeat equivalent of little & large have not looked back with infamous Mix CDs, Radio 1 Mini mix for Annie Mac, Burgers & Beats Radio Show on Brap.fm, NSB and Nu Breaks, Cheeky Booties and a string of festival appearances.

Buba started playing in the Big Beat and Speed Garage days of 1996, his style fuses Hip House & Breakbeats with a cheeky old skool twist! As well as hosting his own shows on Bournemouths K1-FM, he is a regular fav on the south coast circuit spinning breaks & beats along side classic dance tracks.

Eclectic is perhaps the wrong word to describe Jason’s DJ style, he grew up on blockparty and daisy age Hip Hop, James Brown and Big Beat.

His sets are a mash up of Hip Hop, Funk, Breakbeat with retro soundtracks and DnB. His 4yr + Residency at The Consortium (Bournemouth) was testament and secured his infamous reputation! Self-confessing to owning one of the best and worst record collections of many. King, already choice resident for Rogue Beats introduced Buba into the frame, a Mix tape and swift handshake saw him too enlisted on the roster. Predominantly rocking the crowds in their own unique styles, one alcohol-fuelled night led the two to join arms. Having never practiced together, working 4 decks and 2 cd players across 2 mixers proved no problem, there was an instant click and BubaKing was born!!!

Djing alongside high profile acts including Freddy Fresh, Coldcut, Freq Nasty, Stanton Warriors and the Plump DJs to name a few. The duo have built up an infamous reputation (and fanbase) tearing the house down throughout London, Brighton, Southampton, Bristol and their Bournemouth Hometown.

Although relatively new to chatting the mic at club nights he started writing lyrics at the tender age of 16 after leaving school. By the time he was 18 he was out competing in MC Battles and currently remains undefeated. He also started KBU Records (Kings of Bournemouth Underground) with producer Jolly. Watch out for Rai Man MC’s mixtape ‘Bad Influence’ droppin soon.
